Technology Interacting with us
Recently, I've read that scientists are able to replicate the human senses of touch and smell. Sight and sound have long since been used in technological applications, although recognizing faces and differentiating sounds are still challenges. I assume that it won't be long until we have our sense of taste reproduced in some new manner. These, and many other methods of sensing the environment, will allow for more adaptive technologies to emerge.
Imagine being able to sample the smell of flowers you want to purchase online. Or, having a device that can "taste" food for you to determine if it's too spicy, sugary, etc. Many, more pratical uses could also be developed. The way technology interacts with us should be as advanced as our use of technology.

In the end, any tool is an extension of man - they simply allow us to do the things we want to do. And anything man has conceived, man has achieved. We fly, we move mountains, we built cities to the heavens... and technological advance is really just a matter of humans building more powerful tools.
